My 2.5" manifold back exhaust is on and it is perfect. Deep/aggressive at idle/low revs, almost silent at cruising speeds.

The guy that did it even gave her a cute little slant cut tip:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I’ll likely replace the tip and spray the whole system black, but I’m very happy with it.

Wow, 2.5"? Is that a 4 cylinder? That’s what I have on my 5.7L V8 !

Of course my Volvo is 3" from the turbo back, so...

Man it looks like it’s sitting so high from that angle but I’m pretty sure it just speaks to how low todays cars are for aero. I saw a Neon parked next to some unidentifiable cuv and realized they were the same ride height the other day.

It’s bone stock ride height, but ya, compared to modern cars it looks high.

Likely explains why my older vehicles don’t have issue in the winter (well, combined with good tires).

3.0 V6. It’s a big improvement over stock 2".

I would have went 3" but the 3.0s resonate too much with 3". Being my main daily, I didn’t want to contend with that again.

Yea was the same in my old Neon. That thing could truck through a lot of snow

For some reason that pic makes it look even higher. I thought about lowering, but being a daily in WI, I left it stock height.

I must be getting older, things like ride and quiet exhaust have started taking priority. To that she rides nice, is quiet for cruising, and cracks off low 30s for mileage.

I’m getting older too and want the same thing in my cars though I’m looking for a fun car that I can have loud and low and kinda aweful. I just want functional and comfortable when I’m commuting is snow, traffic, and cold

Honestly this car turned into the perfect balance for me.

It has plenty of power to have fun if I want, the 17s+new suspension tighten the handling enough to tear up some twisties, the exhaust/intake make enough noise to sooth the soul.

Meanwhile we can take it anywhere as a family , be comfortable, and hold a conversation without trying to talk over loud exhaust.
